Our world needs people who can forgive like this
Hi friends hope you all are well by the grace of God. People of this century have all the information in their hands. Find this just as a reminder. I quickly felt like to talk about a topic and seriously think that a quick meditation on this is required for many of us. As an unbiased religious student, there seems to be no one among the sons of God who came to earth suffered more than Jesus Christ from the beginning till the end. Correct me if you think I am wrong.
It is of great interest to some students or followers to measure the qualifications of their teachers since the beginning, or perhaps unknowingly thinking about it while hearing their teachers. It is indeed found to be really a failure if a teacher could not live according to his teachings. A sense of ambiguity or faithlessness forces some students to closely watch the life of their teachers. Infact it’s a lack of surety or a lack of personal experience with the truth. They might have not seen good examples too.
Here, I would like to focus on the quality of a teacher as well as well as the importance of forgiveness. Why forgiveness? Its indeed more important than elimination of desires or the theory of karma…for the forgiveness of our own sins and a peaceful world. Who doesn’t need peace of mind and salvation?
Infact, it’s our unforgiveness, that leads us to sickness of mind and body.
If there must be peace in the world, one among two must learn to forgive or ask for forgiveness. Isn’t it...
Let me get into the topic
I say, THE GREATEST TEACHER OF FORGIVENESS IS THE ONE WHO HAS TO FORGIVE THE BEST.
I repeat.
What do you think?... maybe isn’t it...
Let us look into some of the teachings that Jesus Christ gave to his disciples
about forgiveness.
In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus taught his disciples to pray:
-> Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
- Matthew 6:12,14
-> When Peter,
came and asked Jesus, if it was enough to forgive my
brother seven times, Jesus said, "Not seven, but seventy
times seven."
- Matthew 18:22
-> Jesus said, You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor, and hate
your enemy, but I say to you, Love your enemies.
Pray for those who persecute you.
- Matthew 5:44
-> Jesus said, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember
that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the
altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother;
then come and offer your gift.”
-Matthew 5:23-24
-> Jesus If you are offended by someone when you pray, forgive him.
- Mark 11:25
And many more verses...
After all his talks, we know that our Lord Jesus did not lead a comfortable
life and passed from this world, but, as the letter to the Hebrews says, he has
never sinned but was tempted like us in all things.
Let us try to meditate a little about his passion of cross, the physical and
mental torments he suffered
-> Feel his pain when, Judas, one of the 12 disciples who was close to him
and was the treasurer, betrayed him for just thirty pieces of silver.
-> Feel his pain when, the first chosen disciple, rock of his church, Simon
Peter, the disciple who walked with him for three years and saw all the
miracles he did and listened to the sermons, denied him three times in front of
others.
-> Feel his pain When Roman soldiers stripped his clothes, bound him, and
beat him on the chest, outside, and face, scattered his flesh and blood on the
floor.
-> Feel his pain, when all the people, who had heard his sermons and received
miraculous healings from Jesus Christ, cried out loud saying, Crucify him.
-> Feel his pain, when they spit on his face, slapped on his cheeks, and made
a crown of thorns and pierced his head.
-> Feel his pain, when carrying a heavy cross on his shoulders and felling
on the ground hitting the face several times, carrying it all the way to the
top of the mountain.
-> Feel his pain when iron nails were hit into his hands and feet.
-> Feel his
pain when he was stripped and crucified between two thieves in front of his
mother, disciples and other loved ones.
-> Feel his pain when cotton dipped in vinegar was given to him while
thirsty.
-> Feel his pain when they mocked Jesus telling, he saved others, but couldn’t save himself from the cross.
After all fulfillment of prophecies
He prayed this lying
on the cross and submitted his soul to the Father
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what
they are doing."
- Luke 23:34.
This is the
moment where the purpose of his life becomes complete. A life of obedience to the
will of God. Here we receive a model teacher of forgiveness my dears. Infact he
is the role model given to us by our heavenly Father.
People like Sadhguru also say that it was his last prayer that made Jesus equal
to God.
My friends in Christ Jesus, I understand that Jesus Christ is the greatest
teacher of forgiveness in this world, and also Jesus Christ proved to be the
best forgiver in the world.
Disciples! Here is the only perfect example! Here we receive a model teacher.
Let's pray with the Mother of Jesus, Our Mother Mary to Our Father in Heaven, ...
We beseech thee, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, our heavenly Father, Almighty, Holy, and Most Merciful. Teach us to patiently accept and understand all the sufferings you allows us on earth like your beloved Son, Grant us the grace to forgive those who hurt us, wholeheartedly and to pray for them, Also to dedicate our lives completely to you, to be grateful to You in every little thing, to always seek your will and to show mercy to others and live in holiness.
Amen.
